We create.
We produce.
We pour our hearts into designing products, writing content, offering services, and building brands.
But hereâs the truth: many of us stop short.
We donât wear the shirt.
We donât carry the bag.
We donât use the journal, the mug, or the digital product we so proudly list in our shop.
We show up on livestreams and Zoom calls wearing someone elseâs brand.
We post inspiring words without ever linking to our own offerings.
We ask others to buyâbut havenât even convinced ourselves it's good enough to use.
Letâs talk about that.
Scripture: 2 Timothy 2:6 And hardworking farmers [creatives, entrepreneurs, ministry leaders] should be the first to enjoy the fruit of their labor. New Living Translation (brackets added for emphasis)
The Message Behind Our Silence
When we donât show up as the first partaker of our work, the unspoken message is loud and clear:
- âItâs not good enough.â
- âI donât really believe in this.â
- âI made it for other people, but Iâm not ready to stand by it.â
And whether we realize it or not, our audience picks up on that energy.
Why would they rush to support something we wonât wear or promote with pride?
We must become our own best brand ambassadors.
Whatâs Stopping You?
Letâs be real. There are reasons this happens:
- Perfectionism â âItâs not quite done. Iâll wear it later when itâs better.â
- Fear of judgment â âWhat if people think Iâm doing too much?â
- Imposter syndrome â âWho am I to be selling this anyway?â
- Disconnection â âI made this, but Iâm already on to the next thing.â
But hereâs the truth: every time you hide your own work, youâre reinforcing a narrative that it doesnât matter. That YOU donât believe in it.
Letâs Flip the Script
What if we started showing up differently?
- Wearing the earrings we designed.
- Drinking from the mug we made.
- Using our planners during meetings.
- Holding up our journals during livestreams.
- Creating QR codes or simple offers to collect emails while weâre LIVE.
- Actually using our own tools and talking about how theyâre helping us.
Itâs not about being salesy. Itâs about being aligned. If you believe in what youâve created, let people see that belief in action.
Your Brand Needs You to Show Up for It
Your brand is waiting for YOU to go first.
Donât ask others to invest in what you wonât even touch.
Be the first customer. The first testimonial. The loudest cheerleader.
And yesâemail your people. Build that list. Talk about whatâs new.
(Donât just rely on social mediaâbut weâll dive into that next time.)
Final Thought: You are the First Fruit
In faith, the first fruits are sacredâtheyâre the offering that shows gratitude and belief in the harvest to come.
You are the first fruit of your business.
Wear it. Use it. Share it.
And in doing so, invite others to believe too.

We would love to hear your thoughts and comments.Â
